People and Connections
Capture a 360° view of every person and organization linked to your learning community. The People tab lets you view and edit detailed information about each person for which you have access. View parents, siblings, friends, employers, schools, clubs, sports — any person, organization, activity or affiliation related to your student. Comprehensive profiles include phone numbers, addresses, emails, titles, roles (viewable as hierarchical tree), demographics, guardianship, communications, historical information and much more. Administrators can easily add additional fields as desired. You can also sort and filter contacts using standard and custom list views.
Student Enrollment
With Web-to-Lead, you can gather information from your school’s website and automatically generate up to 500 new student prospects per day. Web-to-lead automatically generates the HTML code needed to include an enrollment or admissions form on your Web site, piping the submitted data directly to Skoodat in real-time. Student prospects can be tracked from initial contact through official enrollment. Set-up is a breeze. With the Skoodat Workflow Engine, front office staff can then review potential new students, automatically forward them for approvals, track correspondence activities, and convert them to official enrolled status.
Communications Engine
Email parents, students, prospects, staff and other individuals in your learning community directly from the People tab. Each email is automatically recorded to better track and manage home/school relations over time. Using mass email, you can email a list of people for small-scale campaigns or announcements. Choose a predefined template for the message or create your own template. To personalize your message, the template can include merge fields that are replaced with information from within Skoodat records when the email is sent. Skoodat Foundation Edition can easily be integrated to Google Gmail and cloud-based telephony and speech-to-text systems for a complete, cloud-based school-communications solution.
Flexible Schedule Engine
Time on task is critical to student success. Skoodat Foundation Edition helps you build complicated schedules with ease and automatically create class sessions based on blocks, class periods, marking periods and school year. Once your schedule is built, you can view how many minutes are assigned to each period of instruction and class, then adjust your schedule with drag-and-drop simplicity. Snow days? No problem. Want to run the Wednesday schedule on Friday? Piece of cake. Skoodat has you covered.
Subjects, Courses, Classes and Sessions
Create any subject, course, class, section or class session while maintaining all critical relationships that connect them for reporting purposes. Link courses to Federal, state, district and NCES codes. Assign credits earned and special credit weightings (for AP or IB courses) related to GPA calculations. Each course can be assigned prerequisites or be made a prerequisite for other courses. Determine which student grade levels can register for a class, and even track teacher certifications required to teach a particular course.
Preregistration and Registration
Imagine being able to view complete student history, the core and elective courses for which a particular student is qualified, and an easy course search function all within one window. Now counselors can dramatically improve preregistration accuracy and save huge amounts of time while keeping students on track. With Skoodat, preregistration and registration is a point-and-click operation, putting all the data necessary to make critical learning path decisions at your fingertips.
Daily and Session Attendance
Instructors can record and submit attendance in each class with one click. Front office staff can prearrange absences and they will be instantly viewable by the instructors of affected classes. Administrators gain instant access to attendance data with dashboards, and required reports can be autogenerated or sent directly to the district or state. Even better, if an entire district or state standardizes on Skoodat Foundation Edition, attendance will be viewable in real time for all schools by every stakeholder with appropriate access. Though deceptively simple to use, detailed time measurement metrics are calculated and stored behind the scenes so time spent by each student in each class and subject can be tracked across a specific grade level or across a student’s entire school career.

With Skoodat Grades, you can access all classes from one screen and use any grade scale or type imaginable — from standards-based metrics to emoticons. No matter what grade type you choose, you can convert all grades to points, percents or letter grades with one click. No calculator required. Want to change the weighting of your assignment categories before submitting grades? Easy as pie (and viewable instantly as a pie chart). You can even choose to automatically drop any number of the lowest grades earned in any assignment category.
Student Performance Tracker
Designed in partnership with New Leaders for New Schools, at-a-glance Tracker dashboards deliver instantaneous insight into which students are ready for the next grade level, graduation or college. Because it’s built into the platform, you can easily tie Tracker to any measurement criteria you wish. All Tracker dashboards are clickable, so you can drill down to successive levels of detail. With Tracker, your schools, teachers, parents and even students can track promotion readiness, graduation readiness, and college-readiness.
Analytics Engine and Dashboards
To help you monitor your school, Skoodat offers a wide range of standard reports, accessible in standard report folders on the Reports tab. You can customize standard reports or create entirely new custom reports to access exactly the information you need. Subtotal and limit your data to help you analyze trends and get a concise picture of what is happening in your school or classrooms. You can create tabular reports, summary reports and matrix reports, and with the click of a button add a chart or graph to a dashboard. A dashboard is a group of charts or other components that graphically display your custom report data and give you a real-time snapshot of school metrics and key performance indicators.
Health Management
Record medical contact information, allergies and other special health conditions. Maintain a complete vaccination record for each student. With the Skoodat workflow engine, you can even choose to restrict certain activities, such as registration, based on immunizations or allergies.
Customized Home Tabs
Customize Home tabs to deliver up-to-the-minute announcements, measurements, events and communications. Just like other tabs, you can assign different home page layouts to different users based on profile. Include components such as sidebar links, your school logo, or a dashboard snapshot.
Room, Locker & Parking Space Allocation
Making sure every student and teacher occupies the right space at the right time can be a daunting challenge. With Skoodat, you can easily assign rooms to classes based on available capacity, equipment and other information. In addition to buildings and rooms, there are other spaces to fill. With Skoodat you can assign multiple lockers to students (homeroom, gymnasium, etc.) and keep track of lock combinations, as well as record vehicle registrations, plates, and models and assign parking spaces for faculty and students.
